Scam #1 "It's my birthday send me rares!" Well my opinion on this scam is, it may or may not be their birthday. So, send 'em a cheapo necklace NOT your biggest rare.
Scam #2 "10th person to send me a rare gets ______" Don't fall for it. I mean, some people really will send you whatever they said but 95% of kids playing don't. Again don't give 'em your rares for nothing. Also, you may not be the 10th person!
Scam #3 "My den for a code" These people, once you get there, they will probably tell you that whoever sends the best rare get the code. I'm gonna tell you now. I learned this one the hard way. I sent one of my rarest rares-GONE.
Scam #4 "I don't accept any trades!" Well here is what some people will do, trade one of the others stupid items for one of their rares. Not everyone does this, but after they WILL accept. So watch out.
Scam #5 "Send me a ____ and I will send you a______" The blanks will most likely be rares. So someone might say that, but it is always a scam. Soon you will notice a crowd around the person saying that yelling, I send you that!! So you ALREADY know it's a scam.
Now DEN SCAMS :
Okay, you might be wondering, what the heck are den scams?! I'll tell you: they are scams people pull off in their dens.
Den scam #1 The glove scam. This one will involve a small den. People will say you can get your glove to change colors by putting it on trade and clicking a pillow until they say stop. The pillow will be in a certain place that makes you click the "YES" button for trades. They will trade one of their not-so-rares for YOUR glove!
That's actually the only den scam I know of... :[ I know I'm ashamed.

The reason I say almost is because he was smart enough to not fall for a scammer. The scammer (we think) was saying, "If you send me rares I send you fox hat!!!" So Jayfeather1o1 sent her a pillow! He was lucky to know about scamming and how it works. The arctic wolf he told me about actually looks a lot like me. But he said it wasn't me. The arctic wolf to look out for looks like this:
He did remember the name tag color, but not the picture. Also he didn't know if she had a pet or if she was wearing anything. Please watch out for her.

She told me the scammer was skatergirl12. She was yelling: You send me fox hat I send you head feather!! Kalabam2 fell for it.
She told us it was a mistake because she did not know scamming at the time. But she went up to her and said, "Where is my head feather?" Then skatergirl12 LEFT kaylabam2 said she will never forget that day or to NEVER fall for a scam again.
Here is another scammer story: supermariorocks2 was the scammer. This was heard from partyanimalzz! I am writing it because her computer doesn't take pictures.
We don't know the WHOLE story but we do know that when she left, she said these words, "Scam ya later!" Weird right? Well, I guess it is good to let them know they've been scammed but really?

I have a very interesting scam story to tell you. Let me go ahead and admit it: I fell for it. I was THAT dumb.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I was in Jamaa Township one day when someone said "come to my den if you want my rares." I went, thinking i would be able to trade for his rares. Yay!-not!! When i got there, there were already TONS of people. Including this girl called Blossom Cuteflower(She's important later) and another girl named Rosy Sparklebunny.(also important) The guy who owned the den(Handsome was his first name) finally showed up. He said "I can make your item any different color you want." I was like uhhhh.... But then!(here's the catch) Blossom Cuteflower said "I'll go first for you guys in case it's a scam." Everyone was like "OK!" Because if as long as it wasn't OUR item at stake, we were OK. I was appreciative of Blossom-she was so nice to do this for all of us! I stayed because I wanted to see what would happen. So we actually saw Blossom trade her "item" to Handsome. A few secs later, he traded it back. Blossom was all like "YAY I got my glove changed!" Some people immediately believed her and some wanted to see it. Funny how we never did end up seeing the "changed" glove. But that was enough for some people. They traded their items to Handsome, and he said that he could change up to 4 items for each person. Rosy Sparklebunny gave him her orange fox hat asking for a white one. Handome turned to me and said do you want me to change the color of anything? I said OK(Plz dont as me why). I didnt give hm something great though. I gave him my pink designer skirt requesting a blue one. By then people were asking where their stuff was. He told them that the machine(weird, right?) was almost done with the items. He asked me if I had anything else I wanted changed. I said "No thx, that's all" It wasn't even a second after I said that, no it was like a microsecond, he was gone. And so was his helper: Blossom Cuteflower. They were working together. There was never a glove or a color changer. There was only them and their lies. Their twisted minds, thinking they could do whatever they want. Everyone was devastated, everyone was furious! And because I had only lost 1 thing(thank goodness) I tried to help everyone else as much as I could. Especially Rosy, who had lost her beloved fox hat. We all reported them, like a million times. Did it do any good? We never found out. And as for Rosy, I added her as my buddy. But since that day, she has never come back to animal jam. AJ was ruined for her because of a bully, a scammer, a guy who couldn't care less about others. These people will never get anywhere in life. Beware of them. Someone who seems nice on the outside may have a heart of steel on the inside. But one day, their bad deeds will come back at them, but by then, it will be too late for them to fix it.

I think scammers are people who need a life. They can't get stuff themselves so they get it from others! I got scammed once for a RARE headdress and a pink bow once. I felt like my life was ruined. So I stopped playing animal jam for a few weeks and now I try to prevent scamming as much as I can. Like once I saw an Arctic Wolf saying, "If u send me your bat mask I will trade you a rare." or something and I came in and said don't do it to the innocent penguin. The arctic wolf started saying stuff to me like, "Kicks behind legs!" and "Knocks hat off." so I just left and the penguin left scam free!

I've fallen for many scams and I've gotten teased for it. In the end, I always end up with that same item. Don't worry! It always happens and even to our trusted friends. I'm buddies with diredog and I've heard he scams, but I've not been mean to him, luckily. We are good friends and if we're nice about it, maybe we can change the way they play.

Everybody on here says things like, "I have been scammed millions of times!" I am NOT trying to brag, but I have never scammed, I have never BEEN scammed, and I basically have never been AROUND scams. Though, I have encountered a scam, and whenever someone says things like, "Whoever sends best item wins ALL my rares!" I NEVER. and I repeat, NEVER NEVER NEVER!!! Go ANYWHERE near that person. Also, when someone tells me to do something that is crazy, like, click a certain spot over and over and over and over again, rapidly, or something like that, I am like, "Yeah, like I'm gonna fall for that..." And here is what you do if someone ever THREATENED you, like saying, "If you don't send me your ________ (The blank would probably be a rare item) I will reported you a million times!!!" I take a screen shot of their username very quickly, LOG OUT, log back in, join another world OTHER than the one I was in before, and then look at the screen shot once more, search for their username, and report them like, 20 times. Easy peasy. DO. THAT. when someone threatens you. I never have been threatened, but I would do that if I was threatened.

And she said gift me ur tail armor and ill give them back and i didnt and she tried to persuade me by saying "gift me ur tail and ill give back and gift fox hat too!" im like no way and she ran offline.
She was weasel05 but when yespa( my best friend on aj) went to argue with weasel later on i went with yespa and then i left yespa to argue and i went to my den. Weasel soon returned, claiming that she was hacked by mijm. Mijm had my wings !!

Also, I know another scam I nearly felt for. A raccoon was saying "best gift gets something from list!" She had betas on trade and also cheapies. She scammed Wind Gauntlets from my buddy

I think I got scammed today but I'm really not sure. I buddied someone earlier then later I saw that the person I buddied was logged on to animal jam. So I went to his/her den (were she was) and I said hi like 3 times and all she said was dog or something like that don't ask me why, then he/she went to my den (and my den was WAY better than hers was) and she all of the sudden just sat there with my plushies and for some reason she was not talking,moving,or doing anything for like 5,6 7 minutes doing nothing I kept trying to talk to her, no reply. Just sat there it gave me the feeling that she was up to no good,but I'm still not sure. I blocked her just in case
ReplyDeletehi, today i had got scammed. how? well i was playing actively when a sign came up saying "you have gone for too long and logged out" so i logged in again and it came up again! I kept logging in until it stopped. Well i was happy until i noticed that my ice armor was gone ! then there was 5 animals now 2 diamonds clothes/accessories and items. i had been scammed !

ReplyDeletesadiesnow had adopted me and she was like a sister to me.... she was like a living force field that protected me from everything. bullys bad people even other scammers.. one day she said to me, "my animal jam membership will be running out today..." I was so heart broken. Sadiesnow had always been there for me as like a WARRIOR, fighting for my cause. so I said :oh there must be something can do!
she replied with (we were in my den by now)" well there is one thing..." as you might imagine, I asked what it is. "I would like your howl plaque, if you want to give it to me." Perpared to do anything for her, I sent it to her through jamagram. about 10 seconds later she said she had to go.
About I dunno, a week later I went on animal jam again, expecting sadiesnow to be online waiting for me. but to my surprize she wasent. I checked my whole friends list.. twice, to see if she as there. I looked her up on the find a buddy, and she had deleted me and blocked me. I went to her den (which is now locked permaletly, all the time to probs lock ME out) and with lots of decorations around it, MY HOWL PLAQUE. I couldant believe I was so dumb. I started screaming (very) innapropete words and collapsed into tears.... I didn't play for about 5 months before I was prepared to go back on. now I do a scamming awareness club to warn other that some people will do anything to get what yours. I already have 34 friends who come to my club weekly to share their stories... I tell my story often to others and my BFFs ever and ever who have reported sadiesnow many times for me. every now and then, I see scamming and head to the jamaa township to ask people to help me stop it. occatioally, I head to a popular place with my clubmates and we scream and yell things like "report _____ for scamming my ____!!" and "help me stop scamming by repoting _____!!" and "this person____ is a scammer not a jammer!! help us to stop scamming and make AJ a better place!!

It was my birthday and I asked for people to send me gifts because (no im ot greedy and plus i dont do this anymore) I was new to animal jam at the time and I didnt have much except for a necklace, a tie, a hat, and some other things plus I was nm but I never asked for rares. But if someone wants things sent to them its not really a scam.
ReplyDeletebecause you know you wont get anything in return so if you feel like its still scamming good for you, but in my opinion I think its just people asking for gifts. Another scam I know of is MAILTIME videos, people say they are recording but wont be. My friend did this to people.

ReplyDeleteI have been playing Animal Jam since I was 8, which was during the time when the website first came out, now I'm almost 13 ( To all those young people, don't ask why I'm still playing Animal Jam at such an age. I just love animals and hanging out with my friends :3 )
ReplyDeleteYears before, me and my big sister had tons of random usernames ( I dont remember why and what they we're ). You know how every few months there is an item people go crazy about for a short time, such as the rare headdress? Well during this period, it was the scary bat wings. So one time I was checking out my sister's unwanted random usernames, and I came across some scary bat wings! My sister said I could have it because she already had a pair. I was so happy to finally have a super awesome rare!
A few hours later, when I was hanging out with my best buddy in Zios with my bat wings on, a REALLY awesome looking wolf came up. He was practically covered with rares! He asked me if he wanted to swap my wings with him ( REMEMBER: This was before the trading system, and also, before I had free chat ). I denied his request but my friend persuaded me to see if he was telling the truth. I think the reason she might have said that is probably because she had never been scammed before, like me. After a few moments of thinking, I told the wolf to come to my den.
When we got there, his requests was that if he sent me my bat wings, he would send me 3 fox hats, 2 worns, and a bunch of other stuff I cant remember. The sound of all those epic rares made me even more convinced! I sent him by bats wings, and I think you can guess what happened! He deleted me and ran off! Also, during this time the Jammer Search thingy wasn't released yet. I was so upset I exploded into tears, right then I knew why he was covered in rares and that I was tricked.
But thats not all folks! About a week later, after searching and searching in my random usernames but not finding anymore bat wings, and also still very very upset, I went into the Pillow Room to hang out with my friends, then suddenly, I SAW IT! The scammer who had stolen my bat wings! More than ever, I wanted to have free chat so I could yell at him to give my wings back! Sadly, all I could do was make angry faces at him. Confused and creeped out, he left, and I never ever saw him again.
Years later, the bat wings came back out and I finally have a pair, but whenever I look at those wings, I always remember the first time I was scammed and how I will always try to be careful when trading. Thank you all for reading this story, and be a jammer NOT a scammer! See ya round Jamaa!

P.S. There is something I left out in my post. I dont remember the second half of his username, but I remember the first part which started with a horrible word: HACKER!

Black blade hacked me! He stop everything! Including spike collars, party hats, top hats, nm swords, headdresses fox hats, bows, etc. and all my beta den items and non store items! Now all I have left is membership and a bunch of cheap 45 gems necklaces! Please help! Yesterday I had to play best dressed so many times to earn gems. If you are kind enough please send me stuff! We told him the story and fortunately, thefoodguy was his buddy so he trusted us. Benjaminco is our secret weapon cuz he could follow black blade00 please help me nd kaitlyn and our detectives. ReplyDeleteI had this rare bow. It had taken a lot of hard work for me to get it. I had traded two of my other rare items for it. I loved it, but this one girl had a rare bow with a cool color that I liked even more. I tried to trade my rare bow for it, but she declined it. Then she said to me: "If you want my bow, come to my den." So I did. I friended her. She acted really nice at first. Then she asked me to trade my rare bow for her clarinet on her trade list; after I did that, she claimed she would trade me her rare bow. I knew something felt wrong. I hesitantly said yes, and I was so stupid to agree. So I traded her my rare bow. She unfriended me, and she didn't trade her bow to me in return like she said she would. She lied that she had to go because her mom was calling. I instantly knew it was a trick. I was furious and very sad :(. Bored, I went to Jamaa township and actually found her there! I said, "Where is the bow? Can you trade me it?" She said come, but she disappeared. I reported her for scamming.
So, I have learned my lesson NEVER to trust anyone who acts suspiciously like that and tries to scam. I can’t believe I fell for it! I was so dumb. Her username was kitty00033. Unfortunately, there are lots of scammers out there, so be careful!
I know a VERY sneaky scamming tactic, quiet rarely used, but so hard to avoid and actually know what's going on before it happens. This is it;
ReplyDeleteBasically, The Scammer will wait, wait for his 'prey' to come and show interest in one of The Scammer's items. The Scammer will say something along the lines of, "I will trade with you, only if you happen to have a _____." The '_____' is something simple, quiet easy and achievable to get, hoping their prey won't have it. After The Scammer realizes their prey doesn't own the item, a new player will come along (played by The Scammer) showing interest in one of the prey's items, asking for it. The prey will most likely ask if the new player has a ____ (the thing the Scammer 'wants'). When the other player says yes (obviously owning it) he will trade you what he wants OVERALL from the WHOLE scam for this ____ The Scammer has. After he has traded you, both players will leave you, dumbfounded and scammed.

ReplyDeleteI just got scammed, literally a few minutes ago, and this jammer said he was quitting AJ and if anyone wanted anything on his trade, they just had to do "trust" at his den. I looked on his trade list and saw top hats, spikes and other rare items. He put a mat on trade. There was a cheetah, or snow leopard there too. We tried to get him to say "twinkle winning" or, "Infinity winning". Finally I traded my PIRATE SWORD, RARE SWORD, RARE WORN and RARE FREEDOM MASK. HE SAID YES. His username is swordiswutido PLEASE report him. On my sister's account (I told her about the things he had and she budddied him) He kept flashing. (Scamming) My username is supergirlsh.

On AJ Im weasel05 and I was scammed by my friend Mijm. She said if I sent her my blue fox hat she would send me a red one. So I sent my blue fox hat and then she left my den and unfriended me. I thought I trusted her :c But i was kinda dumb.

ReplyDeleteThis is a true story about how I lost 3 of my most valuable things: A while ago, I got scammed. A white and pink snow leopard wearing a ton of rares got me and a ton of other people to her den, and then had us trade rares for some cheap-o phantom shirt. She said she would decline everything and then send her rares to the person with the best trade. At first, she did but then when it got to two of my best rares and a beta item, she accepted and kicked everyone out of her den. Thankfully, I (with the help of this page) have learned to look out for scammers and report them.
ReplyDeleteI once saw a scammer in Jamaa township saying "My sister is about to die and her last wish is to get a Founder's Hat so gift it to me!" One of the most ridiculous scams. And if your sister REALLY was about to die HELP HER! I hate little kids that do scams!
ReplyDeletei remember a time when i had a rare whole trade list of necklaces, all different color.and then there was this NM who had managed to get a rare witch hat and so i think he saw a pretty looking necklace and he traded the witch hat and a (dunno how he got this)black long BOW(did i fool you?) for the necklace and then when i declined, he said, "OMG U GOTTA ACCEPT THAT MY DADDY WORKS AT AJHQ AND HE WILL BAN YA" so i accepted the same trade as mentioned above and then he thought i scammed him... my user is wolfgal20904
